The four abstract glass panels that flank the chapel entrance speak of collapse and rebirth and resemble both flame and flower - reminding us of the fires we witnessed, and evoking at the same time a beautiful blossom. The light plays off the etched glass on the back wall, creating the sense of a central nave and guiding the attention of the worshipping community to the altar. The windows remind visitors to go forth affirming the values of truth, beauty and goodness."Designing is not a rational process but more like a losing of self in the space and then following intuition. This is a wonderful thing about inspired religious art: the door to the mystery is merely opened by the artist. It is then left to the viewer to pass through for an experience uniquely their own."
