When are weddings celebrated at St. Peter's Church?
Weddings are typically celebrated on Fridays and Saturdays, subject to parish availability and the liturgical calendar.
How far in advance should we contact the parish?
We recommend contacting the parish at least six months before your desired wedding date.
Do you host weddings for non-parishioners?
Yes. Subject to availability, we welcome couples from throughout New York and beyond, provided they are free to marry according to the norms of the Catholic Church.

What preparation is required before marriage?
The Archdiocese of New York requires all engaged couples to complete a marriage preparation program (Pre-Cana) and meet with clergy prior to the wedding.
What is Pre-Cana?
Pre-Cana is the marriage preparation program required by the Archdiocese of New York. It helps couples reflect on the sacrament of marriage and prepare for married life.
What documents are required?
Typically, couples will need:
• A recently issued Baptism Certificate
• Pre-Cana completion certificate
• Marriage License
• Additional documentation as required by Canon lawHow long does the preparation process take?
Preparation generally begins at least six months before the wedding date.
Can a priest or deacon from another parish participate?
Yes. Visiting clergy are welcome with the appropriate permissions.

How do we reserve a wedding date?
Wedding dates are confirmed after an initial meeting with our pastor, Rev. Jarlath Quinn, and receipt of the required deposit.
What fees are associated with a wedding at St. Peter's?
Effective July 1, 2025, the wedding fee is $3,000. Music fees are separate.
Are rehearsals included?
Yes. A rehearsal is scheduled prior to the wedding date.
Are there dates when wedding meetings or rehearsals are not scheduled?
Wedding meetings and scheduling may be limited during Holy Week, Memorial Day Weekend, the week of July 4th, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Week, and Christmas Week.

May we choose our wedding music?
Yes. Sacred music selections are chosen in consultation with our Wedding Music Coordinator.
Who coordinates wedding music?

Are additional musicians available?
Yes. In addition to organ and cantor, a variety of instrumental and vocal options may be available.

Are professional photographers and videographers permitted?
Yes. Photographers and videographers are welcome.
Are there restrictions during the ceremony?
Yes. All photographers and videographers must coordinate with the celebrant before setting up equipment in the church.
May we take photographs inside the church after the ceremony?
Yes. Time permitting, couples are welcome to take photographs in the church following the ceremony.

May we decorate the church?
Floral arrangements are welcome. All decorations must be approved by the parish.
May we use aisle runners, candles, or confetti?
Yes, we encourage you to make your ceremony as special as possible. Certain decorations may be restricted to protect the church and preserve the dignity of the liturgy. Please discuss plans with the wedding coordinator.
